Obituary

John Rashan Harrington, also known as “Sean,” departed this mortal life, bound for his heavenly home on Sunday, September 11, 2022, at the age of forty-one. He was born on May 14, 1981, in Pinehurst, North Carolina, at Moore Regional Hospital to the late Rose L. Peterkin and Paul Lamont Harrington II.

John was raised in the Berkley Community of Aberdeen, NC. In his early adult life, John accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. John attended Pinecrest High School and Craven Community College. At Craven Community College, he received his certificate as a veterinarian. Anyone who knew John knew he loved animals, especially his three dogs. He was a hands-on person who enjoyed landscaping and maintenance work. His passion for landscaping employed him for several years in and around Moore County. In addition, John enjoyed listening to music, playing Golf, and hanging out with his friends and family. John was a great friend to all who knew him and had an amazing sense of humor. He would do anything he could for anybody, even if it meant he had to go without. He was a loving, caring father, brother, and friend who will be greatly missed by his loved ones and fondly remembered by all who came to know him.

In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his grandmothers, Rosetta M Peterkin and Shirley Harrington; nephew, Antonio G. Harrington Jr.; uncles, Clyde McNair and Larry Johnson and aunt, Reba Harrington. John leaves to cherish his memories four brothers, Paul L. Harrington (Shemeka) of Aberdeen, NC, Gregory Harrington of Carbondale, PA, Tavares Harington (Brittany) of Southern Pines, NC, and Sharod McRae (Shalondra) of Raeford, NC; a sister, Sabrina Rice of New York, NY; his fiance, Crystal Barber and her son, Ramone whom he raised as his very own; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and friends.

Funeral service will be held at 2pm Saturday, September 17, 2022, at Christ’s Way Community Church. 15767 US 15-501, S. Aberdeen, NC 28315. A public viewing will be held one hour prior to the service.
